This Chapter has sponsored and helped on numerous conservation projects, such as the Give Moose a Break signs, Brown Bear studies through the purchase of GPS radio collars, radio collars for Caribou studies, Ruffed Grouse transplants on the Peninsula.
We’ve helped support a Zambezi Valley Lion survey in Zimbabwe to help gather population data similar to studies on Brown Bears on the Kenai Peninsula.
We have donated to and are administering a Federal Fish&Wildlife Grant for a community bear proof garbage container project to help reduce the number of bears killed on the Kenai Peninsula due to human/bear conflicts.
Our Chapter has also helped support a local ADF&G study on Chronic Wasting Disease on Kodiak Island.
Our large efforts make up only a small part of one of the largest wildlife conservation organizations in the world – Safari Club International
